In the early days of MS-DOS, the only thing you got when you installed an operating system was the operating system itself. Microsoft's operating systems have become a bit bloated over the years. Most of the applications used to be included with older versions of Windows, but have become "unbundled" in Windows 7.Įven though you no longer get these applications as part of a normal Windows installation, you can still download them to your computer, for free, as part of what Microsoft calls Windows Live Essentials. Windows Live Essentials is a collection of free applications that Microsoft offers for the new Windows 7 operating systemin fact, for all recent versions of Windows. Looks like they may have updated or changed the structure of Windows 10 Display Languages because it doesn't matter if the *name* of your It's apparently trying to tell you your system language pack no longer matches the language of the installer package. Nothing to do with connecting to MS AFAIK, the clue is right there in the error message: "Platform Lang" I suspect it's trying to connect to MS at the end of the installation and it fails I had the offline installer and need to install it on a machine where I previously had it installed, but it is now failing with the following error:
